1. How do I set up my pop boxes?
Setting up your POP email accounts can be done easily by
following these steps:
- You first
need to go to your users control panel, located at
www.YOURDOMAINNAME.com/users. (note:
if you're using MS FrontPage, your control panel may be
located differently. If you're in need of the specific address to
your control panel, please email support@siteleader.com)
You will need your Username and Password. Once you have entered your
username and password, you will see a screen that looks like this:

- Click on the "add a new POP E-mailbox" link.
Once there, enter your desired email box name (minus the @yourdomainname.com),
a desired password, and then click the "do it" button.
- We recommend against taking names like "info" and
"sales", as they are often already taken on most of our servers.
If you need to receive email by a commonly held username such as
"info" or "sales", create an email forwarding account.
2. How do I set up my new email box in my email
program?
FORWARDING ACCOUNTS: Forwarding accounts, once established,
will forward email to the name you specify. For example, if John Doe forwards
info@mydomain.com to JohnDoe@aol.com, then John Doe would just check his AOL
mailbox as usual. This works the same with any ISP.
POP EMAIL ACCOUNTS: Pop email accounts, once established must
be configured in an email program (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora,
etc.) in order to work.
Your email program will require the following information to
get started:
- The "POP" or "Incoming Mail" server
name
- The "SMTP" server name
- The Email address
- The password
With Siteleader, the pop server is always just "yourdomainname.com",
and we do not offer SMTP service (you will have to contact your local ISP for
that information. Otherwise, your username is just the name before the @yourdomainname.com,
and the password is the one you selected on the control panel.

3. My outgoing email isn't working. What's
wrong?
The good news is, if your incoming mail works, than you have
properly set up your email account through your domain. If your outgoing mail is
not working, then you need to contact your ISP for that information.
Siteleader.com currently does not offer ISP services.
4. How do I set up email forwarding?
- The first place to check is your control panel. This is an
administrative area designed to give you ultimate power and control over
your domain. It is packed with options and features, including email
forwarding.
- Your control panel is located at www.YOURDOMAINNAME.com/users.
(note: if you're using MS FrontPage, your control
panel may be located differently. If you're in need of the specific
address to your control panel, please email support@siteleader.com)
You will need your Username and Password. Once you have entered your
username and password, you will see a screen that looks like this:

- Click on the first link, entitled "Email Forwarding
Addresses" · Create your email forwarding addresses and click on the
"Do it" button at the bottom of the page. If you find that this
does not work for you, please contact support@siteleader.com. Our customer
support team will work speedily to get you up and running.
5.
My ISP says that they do not have SMTP
service. What do I do?
Unfortunately, in this instance, we are forced to
recommend that you find a different ISP. AOL is one such ISP that does not
provide this service. You are free to try some of the different ISP's such as
Big Planet (www.bigplanet.com), Earth link (www.earthlink.net), Prodigy (www.prodigy.net), etc. |
