1. I use FrontPageĀ®, and am confused about how
to upload my pages and make them work. What do I
do?
The good news is, it is a simple process is
followed correctly. Here are the steps you need to follow to upload your
page:
- Activate your Internet Connection
- Launch FrontPageĀ® and open the web site you
want to update.
- Make whatever changes you want to make, if
any.
- In the Explorer, choose FILE -->>
Publish FrontPageĀ® Web. DO NOT click the Publish FrontPageĀ® Web Button in this
step. Otherwise FrontPageĀ® will publish the site with its current settings.
- IN the Please Specify the Location to Which
You want to Publish your FrontPageĀ® Web list box, type your domain name WITHOUT
THE "www" (Example: http://yourdomain.com).
- To publish the entire Web Site, UNCHECK the
"Publish Changed Pages Only" check box.
- Click OK
2.
FrontPage isn't allowing me to publish, it says, "FrontPageĀ® not enabled on
web site, please contact your system administrator"
For FrontPageĀ® to be able to publish directly to
your site, you will need to let the technicians at Siteleader know, so we can
install the extensions for you. If you have contacted us already, and you know
the extensions are already installed, then make sure you are putting the correct
publishing address in the "publish to" field. The correct address is
http://yourdomainname.com. DO NOT USE "www" when specifying the
"publish to" field.
3.
My computer keeps saying, "You have performed an illegal operation, this
program will shut down" when I am working on my website, with email, or
publishing.
We understand how stressful this can be, and
sympathize with your position. This is an error specific to your
local computer. If you are in an office, contact your system
administrator, or contact the provider of the computer.
4.
My FrontPageĀ® form does not work. Are the extensions installed correctly?
If you were able to publish the form (and your
website), the extensions ARE installed correctly. Here are a few tips when
working with forms:
- You will need to make sure that all references
on the form are referring to files or directories that actually exist and
have been uploaded to the server.
- If you need to create directories in your web
root directory, you can do so using any FTP program.
If after trying the two steps above you are still
unable to tackle the forms, you may feel free to contact our customer support
team at support@siteleader.com
. Please understand that we are limited in our scope of support that does not
involve our servers. If everything is setup correctly on the server side and you
are still unable to use your forms, please contact Microsoft's technical support
department. |
